Avoid Scary Desk Lunches with Our Easy Goonies-themed Snack Attack Pack
This week’s box is inspired by a childhood favorite flick, Goonies. With Halloween approaching and Stranger Things on Netflix, it all has us feeling nostalgic so we decided to add a little flashback to our Snack Attack Packs this week. Making lunches should be fun and easy. Escape the daily grind with classic flavors fun enough for a kid, but a lunch that’s satisfying enough for a grownup.
Using themes is a great way to narrow down your lunchbox ideas. It can be overwhelming to decide what’s for lunch AND dinner every day, make it easy on yourself by creating combos based around an idea or theme. This makes creating a shopping list easy and assembly doesn’t have to include a bunch of fancy recipes. Life is hard, keep is simple. Happy snacking!
Truffle Shuffle Snack Attack Pack

- Pinchers of Peril {apple teeth}
- Baby Ruth bar
- Rocky Road trail mix
Add a throwback drink like Crystal Pepsi or Ecto Coolers for extra nostalgia or just pickup your favorite juice or soda. Grab an orange and water to complete your day and keep the scurvy away! ARRRRH!
To create your own snack pack you will need the following:
- Red Delicious Apple, sliced
- Sprite/7up
- Baby Ruth bar
- Rocky Road Trail Mix
- Marshmallows
- Nutella
- Skewers
- Cherry Tomatoes
- Mini Pepperonis
- Mozzerella Balls
- Marinara Sauce
Rocky Road trail mix is available at your local grocery or super center or you can make your own by adding together flavors like white chocolate or yogurt covered raisins, marshmallows, peanuts and chocolate covered pretzels. There are lots of great recipes out there and it’s an easy item to find or make yourself.
Switch the pizza kabob ingredients for any pizza items that you would put on your favorite pie, make the lunchbox vegetarian by omitting the pepperonis. Look for items that hold up well for prepackaging and are easily available.
Prefer peanut butter to hazelnut spread? Customize however you like for your preferences and needs. You can also use yogurt covered raisins to make the apple teeth if marshmallows aren’t your thing.
Okay, now that you’ve done your shopping it is time to put everything together.
Assembly:
- To get started you will need to begin by slicing your apples and soaking them in lemon-lime soda for 10-15 minutes. Stir to coat well.
- While the apple slices are soaking in Sprite, assemble your kabobs, place dip in a container, and secure your trail mix in either a baggie or container. Start with the mozzarella balls at the center of the skewer and work out from there for easy kabob building.
- Place everything in the box and put together the apple teeth using the Nutella and marshmallows to create a pair of lips with teeth.
- Add your apple slices and teeth to the box and make sure everything is ready for transport or enjoy straight from the fridge!
